Hi there!
I created this space to showcase my work and journey as a floral + event designer. I’m hoping this will also serve as a tool to connect with professionals in the industry and find opportunities to gain experience, so feel free to contact me! 🙂
I worked in the advertising industry for almost 7 years and recently made a career switch to software engineering. While I enjoy diving into technical work as my primary career, I find supplementing that with creative work incredibly fulfilling.
From Spring 2017 – 2018, I took time to discover what creative field would most excite me. Some of my accomplishments were: completing an online Interior Design course at the New York Institute of Art and Design, working at CB2 as a seasonal associate – offering personal recommendations on furniture pieces and décor to customers while assisting the Visual Merchandiser in display setups between seasons, completing an introductory Floral Design course at The New York Botanical Garden, assisting a wedding planner in wedding day coordination and decor. After connecting the dots, I discovered that my passion lies in event design with a focus on floristry. I find incredible joy in transforming individual flowers into beautiful work that brings just as much happiness to customers. I committed to completing the FlowerSchool New York’s Floral Design program.
Since graduating, I took on freelance work with several studios in NYC and helped execute amazing ideas for weddings, events, and restaurant/retail storefronts. I was able to enjoy freelancing through the end of 2019 when the wedding/events season wrapped up. During the pandemic, I moved to Austin, TX, and now I’m starting to make connections with studios in the area to pick up freelance work again.
Thanks for stopping by – please enjoy some of the experiences documented in my portfolio!
